South America is one of the most active regions in the Adventure Racing World Series
South America is one of the most active regions in the Adventure Racing World Series and in 2026 the continent will hold 4 World Championship Qualifiers (Expedition races), 10 regional races in the South America Series, and the ARWS South America Championship.
The year will start with the first of 4 races in the thriving ARWS Brazil Series. On March 6 Guerreiros Na Aventura will start the adventure racing year and the first Qualifier, Tierra Indómita in Chilean Patagonia, starts straight afterwards when teams representing 10 nations will race for 5 days and 500km through the volcanoes, forests and lakes of the Andean Fire Belt.
The year continues with regional rounds in Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile and Ecuador. These weekend races allow national teams the chance to race in the ARWS in their home country, with some international competition to spice things up, and to score ranking points for the series.
The Bituin ADV Race in June is a new addition to the Brazil Series, while Huairasinchi Aventura returns as a regional round in December, taking place alongside the Huairasinchi expedition race.
In the Qualifier circuit, the Malacara Race returns (now in Amazonia), PC 12 allows teams to explore Colombia, Huairasinchi is back after hosting the 2024 World Championship, and for the first time XK RACE ESQUEL joins the ARWS, completing the line of international races for the year. The winners will qualify for an automatic free entry to the World Championship in either Corsica (2026) or Croatia (2027).
The Regional race circuit will finish in early 2027 when the best teams in the continent meet at the 6th South American Championship hosted by LA GESTA in Paraguay, and this will be the second time this popular event has held the Championship.
The adventure racing community of South America is ready for a big year of adventure, competing in Series races in 6 countries and expanding their horizons by competing against some of the best teams in the world at expedition length Qualifier races.
