"Huairasinchi is Ecuador’s flagship expedition adventure race and one of the true benchmarks of the sport. Proud host of the Adventure Racing World Championship in 2014 and again in 2024, it stands out as the race with the most editions in adventure racing history—a legacy built through consistency, innovation, and world-class organization.

Set in the Middle of the World, Huairasinchi is more than a competition: it is a full-spectrum experience designed to challenge both performance and decision-making. Teams navigate through an extraordinary range of cultures, landscapes, and ecosystems, moving across dramatic terrain where altitude, weather, and technical routes demand strategy, resilience, and seamless teamwork.

In 2026 the Qualifier race will be a 3 day event, with the winning team receiving a place at the Adventure Racing World Championship in Croatia.  

The new title sponsor for the race Chery Himla.  Chery is an internationally recognized automotive brand with sustained global growth. The Chery Himla pickup truck is a product whose values of strength, exploration, and teamwork align naturally with the spirit of Huairasinchi.

This year there will also be a 12 hour edition (part of ARWS South America Series) and an introductory 8 hour race.
