Mexico’s La Ruta Madre expedition race returns as a Qualifier for the Adventure Racing World Series in March 2027 with a landmark partnership uniting the course design skills and international reputation of Bend Racing with the established local expertise of the La Ruta team, led by Javier Barreda.
From 27 September, with the arrival of the first teams, ten days of adventure between Corte and L’Île-Rousse will begin. A parade of nations, a prologue through the Citadel, a dawn start, live race coverage and beach finishes: Corsica is preparing to embrace the excitement of the world’s greatest adventure racing event.
Designed as an ideal stepping stone for international and national teams preparing to compete on the global stage, the 4.5-day, 450 km expedition will showcase some of the most dramatic mountain terrain, high-desert canyons, and alpine wilderness in North America.
The third regional round of the 2026 ARWS South America circuit will be Charrúa Extremo in Uruguay, taking place in the tiny village of Paso del Cerro, home to just 200 inhabitants, in northern Tacuarembó.
X-Marathon Adventure Race returns to the stunning Central Coast of New South Wales with a brand-new course, world-class terrain, and a coveted ticket to the 2027 World Championship.
The Montane Adventure Race will test elite teams on a technical course open for 48 hours, as they pass through 3 UNESCO World Heritage sites and battle for a qualifying spot in the 2027 Adventure Racing World Championship.
