The Total Recon 36-Hour Adventure Race is set to return bigger than ever in November 2025, proudly hosting the Oceania Championships for the Adventure Racing World Series (ARWS)

The Subaru Canada Adventure Racing World Championship concluded in Penticton after 10 days of non-stop racing across the mountains, forests and rivers of British Columbia.
The 21st Adventure Racing World Championship starts in Penticton, British Columbia on September 25th and teams from 25 countries are now travelling to Canada to prepare for one of the toughest sporting challenges on earth.
To coincide with the latest World Obstacle Congress the International Adventure Racing Association (IARA) has reaffirmed their position as the governing body of Adventure Racing and issued the following statement.
Wayne Leek recalls the first Adventure Racing World Championship in Canada, back in 2004.
Adding The Dark Zone to the media roster ensures that fans and followers of the race will have direct access to athlete interviews, transition area insights, and behind-the-scenes storytelling
The race will start in the town of Tambores (meaning drums) in the region of Tacuarembó and Paysandú. The course will be over 160 kms with an exciting variety of terrain in 8 stages of rogaining, mountain biking and trekking.
