As organisers of the AR World Series, it is with the greatest reluctance that we are suspending the Turas from the AR World Series, until such time as the financial issues facing the event are resolved.
The event organisers have been in recent times unable to make payments in prize money to teams or to some of their event suppliers. Reasons given are complex, and while it seems funds were secured, a series of events and the current economic turmoil existing in Ireland have precluded the organisers to settle the race's accounts. While the situation does not seem to be dependent on the organisers themselves, they are working towards a resolution, but it might take some time until all is resolved.
Similarly, the Bull of Africa has been delayed in making prize money payments. However, this is for administrative reasons rather than financial, with the principal backer Bunker Capital setting up a trust for Adventure Racing in South Africa, and legalities taking precedent over providing timely liquidities. |
