THE BIMBACHE EXTREM CASTILLA Y LEÓN N 2009 IS ALREADY HERE |

From the 16th to the 23rd of May will take place the 7th edition of the BIMBACHE EXTREM, and for the second time this one will take place in the Autonomous Region of CASTILLA Y LEÓN.
In the edition of 2008 a large group of adventurers of 13 different nationalities covered part of the provinces of Segovia, Burgos and Valladolid.
In this one new edition the provinces selected by the organization will be the ones located more in the north: LEÓN and PALENCIA.
In León and Palencia there are placed great nature reserves, places where Brown Bear, the Wild Goat or the Iberian Wolf roam free, mountains that ascend to 2500 meters of height and that serve as natural border in Peaks of Europe with Asturias and Santander.
The water constitutes an important element in these provinces, crossed by important rivers like the Órbigo, the Esla, the Pisuerga or the Carrión, which are part of the history with the Castile Channel. In addition some to the greatest dams are also here: Riaño, Barrios de Luna, Porma or Aguilar.
The province of Palencia is characterized to have different landscapes throughout its territory. As it is well sung in its hymn, there is “rich lowland and valley, plain and mountain”.
By the province of León two great routes run: from the south to the north the Route of the Silver, and from the east to the west the Way of Santiago.
Surely these provinces have all the incentives to be able to organize a spectacular BIMBACHE EXTREM CASTILLA Y LEÓN, where the participant teams will be able to discover places of incredible beauty that will make the suffering and the hardness or this race more bearable. |
